 All levels Watercolor

 Students in this 4-5 week class will be exploring the freedom of watercolor....you never quite know what will happen! The last class will be an alfresco class in a natural setting.

 

Supply List: * pad watercolor paper * paper towels, * trash bags * sponge * spray bottle for water * watercolor paints ( kit fine or if not then red/yellow/blue/white and black) * watercolor pencils  * watercolor brushes * pallette with seperate compartments (if possible...if not use an old ice tray)

 

                     

Photography Critique

 In this 4 week course students will be given weekly assignments and then we will compare our work with each other and gently make suggestions. No harsh words allowed but merely some loving direction from fellow artists. Come benefit from a fresh eye seeing your work and meet other photographers! ( must be willing to bring in work or nothing to discuss)

 

Supplies: camera and  weekly development cost

All classes are 3-5 weeks and most will end with an alfresco or outdoor class if applicable.  $25 covers the cost of one class but not materials for adults. Children materials will be provided. Students are expected to bring materials the first night of class to make best use of their time. The Studio Art Center is not liable for any injury sustained during the class or for personal items left/stolen on the various properties where classes are held..

Printmaking

In this 4 week class we will cover basics such as monoprints and potato prints and linocuts and other basic forms of printmaking. The student will come out with a basic knowledge of printmaking.

 

Supply List: * plexiglass sheet 2 ft by 3 ft ( Lowes can cut it for you....doesn't have to be exact but not any smaller than 1 ft by 1 ft. * acrylic paints * newsprint * wine bottle  * printmaking paper * brushes to paint with * potatoes * paring knife * trash bags to cover table

 

 Mixed Media/Collage

In this 4 week class students will use various materials around the house to make works of art. Fabric, magazines, wallpaper, pennies, plastic,etc will be adhered to a hard surface to make a unique work of art.

 

Supply List: * hard surface such as a thin board to adhere items to ( or cardboard  or matboard is fine too) * glue for multiple items like E6000 is good but elmers works too ( depends on items) * scissors * various items of fabric, paper, rope,etc for adhering to the surface. * an image you are working from * a pencil to draw image prior to glueing down items * trash bags to cover work surface ( dollar store)
