Here at the Studio Art Center we aim to make everything easy for you. However, like any good hostess we need to know how many people we can expect so we can prepare accordingly.  We send out an ad to let our students know about our current offerings and if there are not enough students or if a class fills we like to know so we can offer another class with the remaining students. We also have to make sure we have a place to meet so we have to plan well in advance. You wouldn't just show up on someone's doorstep without them knowing you were throwing a party at their house now would you?  

 

We have to let people know we are coming as well.

 

Your part as a student involves registering early by the registration date to make sure a class isn't cancelled for lack of participants. No need to pay for a classroom and not have anybody show up is there? After all, we are not mind readers and don't know you plan to come the first night of class and register ( which is fine if we have enough students for a class to run....the more the merrier...bring a friend, aunt Mary or whoever wants to join in the fun...as long as they bring their wallet that is....haha)

 

So please call early and register by phone at (843)697-8956 or online via the buy now button above or via email at thestudioartcenter@gmail.com.. Either way we will be glad to hear from you! We can take payments in person or via phone using a card reader or by cash/check/ money order prior to registration deadlines. We take Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Discover as well as Paypal for a payment option. That being said, you must pay in advance to be considered a student. Once you are a return customer you can pay in person.

 

If a course is cancelled we will gladly refund your money. That is the beauty of the digital age. We have the same policy as the Gibbes Museum of art : There will be no refunds after the start of class and no makeup classes for absences on the part of the student. That being said we are pretty easy going and will do what we can to make sure you leave happy. One reason we pay week to week is so you dont get locked in to taking classes from us if you become unhappy. You are free to go after one class but you have paid us for our time. We are trying to avoid people taking a class then claiming to be unhappy  and demanding a refund to get a free art class. It happens more than you know. I have seen it many times in this line of work. We showed up, we taught, we rented the space.....we did our end......that is why no refund.

 

So we look forward to hearing from you. The sooner the better. 4 person minimum per class. 10 person maximum usually. We like to keep class size small at The Studio Art Center so everyone gets lots of individualized attention but not so small we pay for an empty classroom. We are sure you understand. .
